The Sippin' Lizzard Building Fund
April 23, 2008
Fund Stats
Dear FFMS Members and Friends:
Would you like to
see FFMS concerts and other activities in our own
building?
Last night the
FFMS Board voted to move ahead with finding a permanent home for the
FFMS. Each Board member pledged $100 to the “Sippin Lizzard Building
Fund.”
What will an FFMS
building mean to folk music in the Flint area? You will have more
concerts, open mics, workshops and other activities as well as a
place to gather with other folk music fans.
Now we need your
support. In the next few weeks most of you will be receiving a
rebate check from the U.S. as part of the economic stimulus plan.
We’re asking that you take a small part of that rebate, just $100 of
it, and stimulate the process of finding a home for the Lizzard.
For your $100 tax
deductible donation you will receive a lifetime membership in the
FFMS entitling you to member discount admission to all FFMS events.
You will also receive a 2008 Festival CD and acknowledgement on the
FFMS web site and at FFMS events.
Our goal is
$10,000 by the end of May. You can help us reach that goal by
sending your check to the Flint Folk Music Society, P.O. Box 1000,
Flint, MI 48501. Write “Sippin Lizzard Fund” on the memo line. Then
watch the web site to see the progress of the fund drive and the
list of your fellow folk music supporters who donated to the fund.
