Flint Folk Music Festival

The Flint Folk Music Society presents a day of music and activities featuring the best folk music around. This year we change venues from Kearsley Park to the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Flint (UUCF) The UUCF presents us with the opportunity to utilize both outdoor and indoor facilities for the enjoyment and comfort of both artists and audience. The move to the UUCF means we lose our grant funding so donations will be solicited during the festival.

The format of the festival will also change. There will be both concert performances on the Ron Woods Festival Stage by the musicians as well as workshops/showcase performances for smaller more intimate audiences. The FFMS will ask a donation of $5 for each of the concert performance. The workshops/showcases will be free of charge as will the Steve Rodgers Jam Tent and any other additional activities that might be added to the festival.

Other activities tentatively include a contra dance, 50/50 Raffle and Ukulele Raffle.

Refreshments will be available (coffee, soft drinks, water, popcorn, hot dogs and pizza). The area near the UUCF offers many restaurants and fast food franchises for those seeking more hearty fare.

Artists tentatively performing at the festival include Mark Dvorak, Matt Watroba, Rev. Robert Jones, and Mustard’s Retreat.

Additional artists and the festival schedule will be announced as details are finalized.
