You're invited to experience an FFMS Song Circle at the Greater Flint Arts Council on Saturday, March 20, 2010.

What is a Song Circle?

A Song Circle is part open mic, part sing-a-long, part concert. Musicians, singers and audience form a circle and going around the circle, each person has the chance to sing a song of their choice - or just opt to be a listener.  A Song Circle is a unique experience because the variety of songs presented include songs both old and new, written by others and by the musicians participating in the Song Circle.

This Song Circle will be preceded by a Song Writing Session and a Pot Luck Dinner. You may attend any or all of the events but if you attend the pot luck dinner, you are asked to bring a dish to pass.

The Song Writing Session will be a collaborative exercise. You do not need to be a song writer to enjoy the event - and actually become a songwriter! Participants will be paired or grouped to write a song on an assigned subject or theme.

 Schedule:

3-6 p.m. - Song Writing Session (no charge, pre-registration requested)

6-7 p.m. - Pot Luck Dinner (Those attending asked to bring a dish to  pass.)

7-10 p.m. - Song Circle (The songs written at the Song Writing Session will be among those performed)
