Join us and discover the fun of contra (country) dancing! Flint Community Schools and The Flint Folk Music Society will be sponsoring 4 classes/dances at Neithercut School this semester. Neither previous dance experience nor a dance partner is necessary. We are absolutely delighted to have booked Glen Morningstar as our caller. Glen will teach you the moves and provide a walk-through before the music begins. Also experienced dancers will be on hand to help you learn. Come enjoy the social interaction and the good exercise, while also helping us build a dance community. All dances will take place on the final Friday of January through April.

Dances I and III will feature recorded music; dances II and IV will feature Ruffwater Stringband members Brad Battey on fiddle and Judi Morningstar on keyboard.

The class is open to adults and young people (13-17 years old with adult)

The cost for all 4 weeks is $50 or an individual $13 drop-in fee***. -

***If you are an experienced contra dancer, not in need of instruction, and can help demonstrate

the dances, your entry fee will be half of that for those who are learning.***

Session II Friday, February 26 7:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m.

Session III Friday, March 26 7:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.

Session IV Friday, April 30 7:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m.
