There are two types of volunteers needed:

1) Set up and Take down

These volunteers will set up and/or take down the festival equipment. This is manual labor and may include moving chairs, tables, staging, sound and lighting equipment. Park workers will be available to help with these tasks. Setup volunteers will report to Kearsley Park on Saturday, July 18 and work from 10 am to noon. Take down volunteers will work from the end of the last performance until all cleanup has been completed. This will take about an hour.

2) Festival Services

These volunteers will work during the festival and serve a maximum 2-hour shift at any one station. Volunteers can move from station to station if they wish. For example, someone volunteering as a greeter from 1 to 3 could then work a shift in the refreshment tent from 3 to 5. Anyone volunteering for set up and /or take down can also volunteer for a volunteer station during the festival if they choose. Volunteer shifts are from 1-3, 3-5, 5-7, 7-9.

Volunteer positions include:

Greeter

Where: Pavilion entrances (2 volunteers per shift)

Duties: Greet those attending, distribute drawing tickets and programs, enforce festival rules. These rules include keeping the pavilion a quiet area and free of disturbances during the performances, no dogs in the pavilion, no alcoholic beverages. In the event of problems, greeters will notify FFMS officials.

CD Sales and Information

There will be a meeting for all volunteers on Friday, July 17 at 6 p.m. Dinner will be provided. Volunteer assignments and duties will be reviewed and any questions or concerns answered. In appreciation for their services, volunteers will receive two tickets to any FFMS concert in September, October or November of 2009.
