Robert Marr
Here
is a singer/songwriter who writes stories about you and me and
the guy down the street. He writes about disturbing social issues as
well as exploration of self worth. Throw in some comical lyrics
about real-life situations, et, voila!
After playing music for 35 years, and being
a member of a few bands earlier on, Robert finally came back to the
performing scene in 2005. Since then, he has written and recorded
several songs, and released his first album, "One Of Them Nights".
It is his first attempt at writing folk music, but certainly not the
last. His second album will be released in the second quarter of
2008, exploring topics ranging from suicide bombing to the Amish
school girl killings up to an Irish drinking song.
"..this hauntin song will be with me for a long time cuz its (bleep)in'
great man"
"This is how I love a song delivered. In an honest and true setting
in a really honest and stripped down way"
"The vocals are really great and with just the guitar is so
perfect... I couldn't see it any other way"
These are a few of the reviews from various RM songs. Another
reviewer stated, " I hear the rebirth of Harry Chapin in some of
your songs, dude....." That's OK with Robert. In his view, Chapin
was the king of singer/songwriters.
