Songwriting/Pot Luck Dinner/ Song Circle

Songwriting Session, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Ever wanted or tried to write a song? Do you like to explore words and ideas? Have you ever wondered about the creative process in songwriting? If so, the Songwriting Session is for you. Participants will work collaboratively in pairs or small groups to craft a song about an assigned topic. The songs you write will become a part of the Song Circle later in the evening. Refreshments will be available to fuel your songwriting labors. There is no charge for admission, but if you stay for the pot luck dinner, bring a dish to pass!

Pot Luck Dinner, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Everyone likes to eat! Bring a dish to pass and spend an enjoyable meal sampling what others have brought to the pot luck table. What could be more enjoyable than good food and the company of your fellow folkies. . . unless that good food and good company is followed by some good music, perhaps a song circle!

Song Circle, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

We gather in a circle and share the music we enjoy. Each person in the circle is an essential part of the experience. Some will sing songs of their choosing or creation. Others will share a thought, an observation, a joke or poem. Some will sing along, some will play their instrument, some will listen.

Nothing is required. Everything is freely given. Everyone brings something to the circle. A song circle is an intimate experience of sharing and community—a great way to end the day!
